First, I shower. It’s the very first thing I do every morning, even before coffee. I wake up around seven, turn off the alarm, and sit on the edge of the bed for a few seconds to get my head straight. Then I walk straight to the bathroom. I don’t check my phone yet. I don’t talk. I just turn on the water.
While the shower heats up, I brush my teeth and splash some water on my face. Once the water is warm, I step in and close the curtain. The noise of the water helps me wake up. I usually stay there for about five minutes. I wash my hair, then my face, then the rest of my body. Nothing fancy. Same soap, same shampoo, every day.
After that, I turn off the water and grab the towel that’s always hanging behind the door. I dry off, put on deodorant, and get dressed right there in the bathroom. If it’s cold, I move fast. If it’s summer, I take my time.
When I leave the bathroom, I feel ready to start the day. My head is clearer, and I’m fully awake. Then I go to the kitchen, make coffee, and finally check my phone. But all of that comes later.
