Audio: [I Arrived Late to Work](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wxZe65NTo9HDwVhUFKfH1Ul7WHEzf3VQ/view?usp=drivesdk) Yesterday I arrived late to work. My alarm didn’t go off, and when I opened my eyes it was already 8:15. I’m usually out of the house by 7:30. I got dressed quickly, skipped breakfast, and left without making coffee. The street was busier than usual. I waited for the bus, but it didn’t come. After ten minutes, I decided to walk to the metro station instead. At the station, the next train was delayed. People were standing close to the edge of the platform, checking their phones. When the train finally arrived, it was crowded. I stood near the door and watched the stops slowly pass. I kept looking at the time. I got off two stops later and walked the last few blocks to the office. When I entered, it was 9:20. I normally start at 9:00. My manager looked up from her desk. She didn’t say anything at first. I apologized and told her the train was delayed. She nodded and asked me to join the morning meeting. After that, the day continued as usual. I answered emails, made two phone calls, and finished a report before lunch. It wasn’t a serious problem. It was just one late morning.
