Audio: [Now I Take Longer](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HoGEHbwoD0bw6EkyJbubxaULbohrJy3H/view?usp=drivesdk)
I wake up at the same time every day, but everything takes longer now. I stay in bed for a few extra minutes, staring at the ceiling and listening to the traffic outside. Then I get up, make the bed, and walk to the kitchen. I used to start the coffee right away. Now I open the window first, check the weather, and look at my phone for a moment.
While the coffee brews, I wash a cup, even if there’s already a clean one. I like using it warm. I toast some bread, but I wait until the coffee is ready before I eat. I don’t rush anymore. I sit at the table and actually finish my breakfast instead of standing by the counter.
After that, I shower. I let the water run a bit before I step in. I wash my hair slowly and stay there longer than I need to. When I get out, I dry off, put on clothes, and think about what shoes to wear, even though I usually choose the same pair.
Before leaving, I check my keys, my wallet, and my headphones. Sometimes I check them twice. I lock the door, then stop and make sure it’s really locked.
I still leave the house every morning, and I still get where I’m going. I just move through the day at a slower pace, one small step after another.
